Philip Law: The Wisdom of the Apostles [1997] hardback

This is a selection of readings from the Apostles, interspersed with paintings and illustrations to aid meditation. There are 30 headings, providing daily meditations for a month. The leaders of the first generation of Christians preserved and developed the teaching of Jesus in the form of letters written to guide and encourage the groups of believers, or Churches, that sprang up throughout the Roman Empire. Some of those letters - most notably from St James, St John, St Peter and St Paul - includes words of wisdom and insight that have proved an inspiration to the many generations that have followed. The book is part of "The Wisdom of" series, which aims to introduce people to the rich spiritual heritage of the Christian faith. This includes people who want to explore and develop the spiritual dimension in their lives, but who may be wary of institutional forms of religion and worship.
